It may be noted that theUniversity had addressed concerns of students on this matter at the very beginning of thecurrent semester through various meetings. University had issued appropriate guidelinesto all affiliated colleges on this matter so as to ensure online teaching accessible to allstudents. We would like to present the following on this matter:1.Regular class work for the current semester commenced on 18.082020. The Universitytook feedback from all colleges during 2nd week of September 2020 regarding the statusand success of online classes and issue of net connectivity in rural areas of Kerala andthat of other states. It was reported that the online classes were very effective and thatonly very few Students face issues Of net connectivity. As per the instructions issued by theuniversity, the colleges addressed the issue by many means such as:i. Bringing those students to campus for attending the classes.ii. Providing course materials/notes to those students.iii. Making available the recorded materials.iv. Donating mobile phones/laptops to the needy students.2. The Academic Council held on 3r d November 2020 resolved to formulate a sub-committee to look into the concerns of students including net connectivity issues in remoteareas. The sub-committee held its meetings on 18th, 19th and 26th November 2020 anddiscussed the matter in detail. The report Of the sub-committee was approved by theAcademic Council held on 29ü7 November 2020. Accordingly, a circular was issued basedon the decisions Of the academic council;i. Though classes were completed by 18.122020, additional online classes werearranged for all students semester wise from 19.12.2020 to 13.03.2021 strictlyabiding to the COVID-19 protocols (for interacting with faculty members).ii. End semester examinations for all programmes shall be conducted in such a waythat 70% Of the total marks scored in Examination will be treated as 100%.
