Grade point average is a value number that represents the average of the grades obtained or accumulated in a certain course by the student over a specific time.
- SGPA :- Grade point average over a particular semester only
- CGPA :- Grade Point Average of overall semesters in a particular course
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) are calculated as provided below.
Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) Calculation
GPi : Grade Point Assigned to that subject.Find grade point here.
Ci : Its the credit assigned to that subject or course
SGPA = Σ(Ci×GPi)/ΣCi
While calculating SGPA, All the subjects registered by the student in the semester is taken into account. The Failed subjects will be also taken into account while calculating SGPA.
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) Calculation
Ci: Its the credit assigned for a course
GPi: It is the grade point for that subject
Here, The subject registered by the student in all the semesters are taken into account. The failed subjects are also taken into account. The specific CGPA of each passed subjects will be also given.
How to Convert KTU GPA Into Percentage
The following equation is put forward by the KTU Academic committee to convert GPA points into percentage. KTU GPA Points can be seen in the KTU Students Portal in the grade card generated. You can also calculate GPA using the above equations.
Percentage (% Marks) = 10 x G – 3.75
G = SGPA or CGPA
